Pierre Gruneberg is a living legend at Cap-Ferrat. He is a qualified swimming instructor and physiotherapist and inventor of the ingenious ABC method (Aquatic Breathing Control), and has taught the whole world to swim: 60 years spent teaching people... and stars to swim. Charlie Chaplin’s children, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Eric Cantona all learnt to swim thanks to him. Pierre Gruneberg held Stella McCartney in his arms, while the ex-Beatles went windsurfing.
Picasso and Cocteau didn’t actual bathe. But they did a drawing for him as a dedication in his personal and very private golden book including also: George Bush, King Umberto of Italy, Gianni Agnelli, Sir Elton John, Tina Turner, Jean d’Ormesson… as well as King Baudoin, Gérard Depardieu, Johnny Hallyday all of whom he taught to ski in Courchevel where he works… during the winter season.
